Toys of Jackalope - 1969 Plymouth GTX
In 1967 Plymouth introduced the GTX as an optional package on the Belvedere model line. The GTX was a two-door vehicle that could be purchased in either convertible or hardtop configuration. It had all the performance options pre-installed and packaged in a stylish vehicle design. The excellent handling was courteous of the leaf springs, modified shocks, ball joins, and torsion bars. Under the hood was a 440 cubic-inch eight-cylinder engine, dubbed the Super Cammando 440, producing an astonishing 375 horsepower. A 426 cubic-inch Hemi engine was optional, and boosted horsepower to 425. It cost just a little over $540 for the Hemi engine and only 720 buyers purchased this option. The three-speed automatic transmission was standard but a four-speed manual could be purchased to replace the automatic gearbox.
For 1969, the GTX was modified only slightly with most of the changes to the grill and taillights. The big news was the Hurst shifter, Air Grabber option, and various rear axles. There were now three engine options. The 440 cubic-inch engines single four-barrel carburetor was replaced with a three two-barrel carburetor resulting in 390 horsepower. It was dubbed the 440+6 and cost just $120 over the base 440 cubic-inch engine that produced 375 horsepower. Only 209 buyers shelled out the $700 for the Hemi engine. This was the final year the convertible option was offered.
In October of 2006, the GTX had to have open heart surgery due to various forms of late stage thrombosis in the peripheral arteries. This was from many years of abuse and running hard in her late teens. The physican was world reknowned heart surgeon John Hall from H&S Automotive in Hagarstown, MD. Her heart transplant was completed on October 26th where she received a younger, livelier and fresher 440 with aluminum heads. Below are pictures of the heart and the surgery…

The Black Dragon unleashes her new 440 block with aluminum heads on the Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown, MD on October 20, 2006. She ran a 13.001 without racing slicks. The owner was very pleased.

From the CIA Threat Assessment Guide 2004:
Located roughly 250 miles off of Australia 's Great Barrier Reef, the Isle of Grellastan is a mysterious paradise largely untouched by Western commercialism. First settled in 1802 by Benicio Grella, Grellastan boasts white sand beaches and a harsh authoritarian regime suspicious of outsiders. Notable points in the Isle's history include the development of the island's denim industry during the early 20th century. Even today, Grellastan's unique lightweight denim is sought after by jort manufacturers around the world and has enriched the Grella family and other members of the Isle's ruling junta to levels unseen throughout most of the western world.
The Isle is still ruled by the Grella clan who survived a coup attempt largely thought to be led by the son of former US Ambassador to New Zealand, Charles "Butch" Swindells in 2002. This action was unauthorized and agents are currently seeing out the leaders of th coup.
In addition, the Grellas have fought wars with French Polynesia, Rick and TC (unsupported by Magnum) and the Von Erichs. The country has avoided major conflicts in the last 50 years, and though undeclared, we suspect Grellastan is in fact a nuclear power, with an arsenal of some 20-25 nuclear tipped bottle rockets.
The Isle has recently pursued detente with the United States despite the best efforts of ultra-conservative foreign minister Jonathan Grella and his paramilitary secret police, the Grella Guards. These men, feared throughout Vanuatu , Tahiti and other beach communities in the South Pacific. They can usually be spotted with the Minister in their characteristic seersucker suits and should not be taken lightly. In addition, Foreign minister Grella has many sympathizers among the Montagnard villages of Prince George 's and Prince William counties who could threaten the capital.
